These types of disasters remind us how important it is to make sure you’re insured!

Don’t let yourself lose out by Not having your Fine Art/s insured. If something happens to your artwork, you need to make sure you get the Correct Reimbursement, and the Only way this is possible is to have an Appraisal previous to the incident!! Our Appraiser has worked in the Insurance field and knows this process intimately. She is also appointed with all the major insurance companies licensed in the state of California.

We, Coronado Appraisals, LLC, want to reach out to those of you who have had damage done to their homes, and the Fine Art, therein. Or to those of you who want to be sure and protect their Fine Art from any future disasters. You may be wondering what we can do to help ease your workload: Well, let me enlighten you with what we can do for you:

  • You will need Appraisals on all your damaged Fine Arts. We can do this for you; we Appraise paintings, bronzes, furs, firearms, all Southwest and Indian artifacts, including pottery, baskets, rugs, and pre-Colombian artifacts. We also Appraise gems, jewelry, and some vintage and antique furniture; from all Eras and any Century.
  1. Not everyone has current Appraisals on their Fine Arts. We know that in your time of crisis, you will need genuine, thorough, and fast acting help in all areas. Our Appraiser has worked in the Insurance Industry for a total 19 years, interspersed with her first love ~ Fine Arts. Now we work alongside other Insurance companies on a regular basis.
  2. If you do have current insurance, then wonderful; however, we can determine if the damaged Fine Arts can be restored, how much each ‘piece’ has withstood, and the cost involved.
  3. Insurance Claim ~ OK, let’s say something happened to your Fine Art/s. The Insurance company will need to know the Degree of Loss on your Fine Art. Sometimes your artwork can be Repaired and other times it will be suggested, that you Take a Total Loss. Just as when you take a total loss on a car crash, the Insurance company has the right to come and pick up your Fine Arts. Let’s discuss this issue. You must have a Current Appraisal (after the Loss) for the insurance company to give you a check.

AFTER Restoration complete.
  • We can restore the Artwork that has been damaged (if possible). Our Appraiser has restored a plethora of items which have suffered smoke and water damage. She is detailed and can complete this task in a decent amount of time (taking into consideration what type and how much damage the ‘piece’ has sustained).
  • Things that should be restored right away are the water damaged ‘pieces’. Do you know what kind of effects mildew has on objects and how it invades your health? You have your wonderful fans that can dry most anything, preventing formation and growth. Well, we know how to get rid of these problems as well, where Fine Arts are concerned. But, we have to act fast because mildew is harder to get rid of, almost impossible. If your artwork is under glass then mildew will surely start to grow.

Our Appraiser can also clean most any Fine Art (mentioned above). She can remove the soiling of the ages and smoke. No task is too small or too large for her.

Our motto is “We Bring You Truth”. If we feel something is beyond repair, we will inform you and hence not even try to do the restoration. We do not want to spend your money when not necessary. We will never alter the Fine Art from what the artist intended, rather repairing the damage without changing the ‘piece’.
